Incident at 9000 Town Park December 1, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 9000 Town Park about 1:20 a.m. today (Dec.1). The first victim, Rigoberto Yak Xamimes, in his 20s, of 9001 Town Park #104, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Jorge Yak, 23, of 8711 Town Park suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in good condition. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T.R. Hernandez and Officer X. Avila reported: Xamimes and Yak were walking on the sidewalk on Town Park when a black vehicle pulled up beside them. The suspect exited the vehicle, while the driver remained inside. The suspect, armed with a pistol, approached Xamimes and Yak and demanded money. Xamimes began to struggle with the suspect and was shot. Yak was also shot, and as he ran away, turned to see the suspect searching Xamimes’ pockets. The shooting suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his late teens with a slim build wearing a black baggy shirt. The suspect vehicle is a black Honda, Nissan or Toyota.
