Update on Incident at 8309 Hanfro
April 24, 2007 - Houston police homicide investigators have released a composite sketch of one of two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 8309 Hanfro about 2 a.m. on April 6.
The suspect is described as a black male, 50 to 55 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a normal or medium build. He has salt and pepper hair and was wearing a baseball cap and dark clothing. A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this release.
A second suspect was described only as a black male between 35 and 40 years of age.
The victim, Donald C. Cornett, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J.T. Parker, L.A. Flores and O. Belmarez reported:
Officers responded to the scene and saw Mr. Cornett lying on the front porch of his residence where paramedics pronounced him dead. Witnesses told investigators that two suspects entered the enclosed front porch and attempted to rob Cornett. They said Cornett struggled with the suspects and was then shot. The suspects fled in an unknown type small vehicle, believed to be light blue in color.
