Surveillance Video Key in Arrest of Serial Robbery Suspects
April 16, 2007 - Investigators in the Robbery and Central Patrol Divisions arrested two serial robbery suspects responsible for at least 16 robberies of mainly Subway and Shipley‘s Donuts restaurants throughout the city over the past month.
The suspects, Marvin Paxton II (b/m, DOB: 1/15/80) and Annette Baker (b/f, DOB: 12/2/83) have been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 339th State District Court.
Paxton and Baker would enter the restaurants and rob the employees at gunpoint. During one of the robberies, a witness followed the suspects out of the restaurant and was able to provide officers with the suspect’s vehicle license plate number. After following leads and viewing surveillance video from several of the robberies, officers were able to identify Paxton as a suspect. Both suspects were arrested at Paxton’s residence at 2816 Truxillo on Wednesday (April 11).
Video surveillance was a key component in identifying Paxton and Baker as suspects in these robberies.
