Update on Incident at 9803 West Sam Houston Parkway

April 14, 2007 -- Houston police have learned the identity and cause of death of a man found at 9803 West Sam Houston Parkway South about 7 p.m. on Apr. 11, 2007.

The victim, Darrow Edward Dodson Jr., 29, of 6666 Harbor Town #301B sustained a stab wound to his back and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.C. Padilla and Officer M.A. Khan reported:

An apartment complex maintenance person was walking through his property when he noticed smoke coming out of a cream colored Ford Explorer in the adjacent apartment complex. The Houston Fire Department was notified and when firefighters arrived to extinguish the fire, they found the body of Mr. Dodson in the back of the vehicle. Dodson was bound and covered in a plastic bag. The HFD Arson Unit also arrived at the scene to conduct its investigation.
