Update on Incident at 13319 Barnesworth
April 4, 2007 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 13319 Barnesworth about 10:25 p.m on March 9.
The suspect, Nicholas David Mosquera (b/m, DOB: 3/8/90), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Chad Dominique Lewis, 18, of 15770 Bellaire #1001, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants N.T Ruland, J. McGalin and Officer E. H. Schmidt reported:
Mr. Lewis was attending a birthday party when a large group of people arrived at the party. A fight ensued and the party ended. The fight then continued in the street in front of the house and several shots were fired. Lewis was struck in the head one time. Everyone at the scene fled before officers arrived.
During the follow up investigation, Mosquera was identified as the suspect and was arrested on Tuesday (April 3) at his residence at 3431 Trail Lake without incident.
