Incident at 6415 Sherman
September 24, 2006 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding
of another at 6415 Sherman about 1:20 a.m. today (Sept. 24).
The identity of the deceased victim is pending
verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He
suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the
scene. A second person suffered one gunshot wound and was transported
to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C.W. Howard Jr.
and M.W. McStravick reported:
The victim entered the backyard of the residence
at 6415 Sherman and met up with a resident and visitor at the
home. The victim asked to use a bicycle that was in the backyard.
While he was speaking with the two individuals, a Hispanic male
suspect armed with a weapon walked into the backyard and began
to argue with the victim. During the argument, the suspect shot
the victim multiple times. A second person standing nearby was
also wounded by the gunfire. The suspect then fled in an unknown
direction.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in
his late 20s to early 30s. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and
weighs between 190 to 220 pounds. Witnesses said he has a chubby
build and a shaved head. The suspect was last seen wearing dark
shorts or pants and no shirt.
