Incident at 5200 West Alabama

September 17, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another about 2:05 a.m. today (Sept. 17).

The identity of the deceased male victim, 19, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. The identity of the wounded victim, 18, is pending notification to the next of kin. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cruz and Officer E. Carstens reported:

According to witnesses, two groups of men got into a confrontation inside a nightclub on West Alabama and left the club minutes apart. As the first group was driving east on West Alabama at Sage, two vehicles containing the suspects drove up from behind and along side of their vehicle and began shooting. Two persons inside of the victim's vehicle were struck. The victims were able to drive a short distance away and call for assistance.

The suspects are only described as two Asian males driving a white Honda and a white Acura.
