Update on Incident at 7024 Navigation
September 15, 2006 -- Houston
police have taken into custody a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting
of two men and the wounding of two others at 7024 Navigation on
September 7, 1984.
The suspect, Jesus Garcia (H/m, DOB 6/8/56),
was charged with capital murder in the 230th State District Court
in 1984 before fleeing Houston. Two murder warrants were issued
for Garcia at the time. He is accused in the killings of Enerio
Garcia and Domingo Cavazos. He also wounded Mario Alberto Jimenez
and Conrado M. Garcia.
HPD Homicide Division Officer Selvera reported:
The victims were all at the Los Dos Hermanos
Lounge located at 7024 Navigation when Garcia shot them. Members
of the HPD Homicide Division Chicano Squad conducted the follow
up investigation that led to murder charges being filed against
Garcia. Garcia was not heard from again until Nevada authorities
notified investigators of his arrest in Las Vegas on August 24,
2006 on the outstanding murder warrants. Garcia has been extradited
back to Houston to face those charges.
