Incident at 5400 Dryad Drive

November 28, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a juvenile male at 5400 Dryad Drive about 8:40 a.m. today (Nov. 28).

The victim is identified as Julian Ruiz, 16, of 5722 Alvarado. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.J. Brooks and Officer M.F. Waters reported:

Julian Ruiz was shot several times as he walked near Westbury High School in the 5400 block of Dryad. The suspects, described only as two Hispanic males, fled in a tan or gold 1990s model Mercury Cougar with tinted windows and chrome wheels.
