Traffic Incident at 7000 Gulf Freeway

November 21, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 7000 block of the Gulf Freeway (Interstate I-45 South) about 4:50 a.m. today (November 21).

The female victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification to family members, died at the scene.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer S.E. Bolton reported:

A driver of a tan Ford Explorer went off the roadway and struck a concrete pillar as she attempted to exit the freeway. HFD paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
