Incident at 1919 Runnels

November 10, 2006 -- Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 1919 Runnels about 3:10 p.m. on Friday (Nov.10).

The identities of the victim and the suspect are being withheld pending notification to family members. The suspect is the wife of the victim and both are Hurricane Katrina evacuees.

The victim suffered a stab wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he later died.

Homicide Division Sergeant G.Gonzales and Officer R. Martinez reported:

The victim was having an argument over money in apartment #211 of the Clayton Homes Housing Complex at 1919 Runnels. According to witnesses, the dispute moved to the southwest corner of the property where the suspect stabbed the victim once in the chest.
