Incident at 11500 Keegans Ridge

November 1, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 11500 Keegans Ridge about 6 a.m. today (Nov. 1).

The suspects, identified as Billy Joe Whiteside (b/m, DOB 9/10/76) and Domingo Alan Valle (H/m, DOB 12/30/79) remain at large. Both are charged with murder in the 177th State District Court for their roles in the killing of Brandon Dean, 21, of 7500 Creekbend.

Dean sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Motard and Officer C. Abbondandolo reported:

Witnesses reported seeing Mr. Dean and two companions sitting in Dean's vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex when a brown or bronze colored Lincoln Navigator pulled along side of them. One or more of the suspects exited the Navigator and began shooting at the victims. All three victims were hit by gunfire and Dean died at the scene. The suspects fled in the Navigator.

Investigators have questioned the other victims who were treated at an area hospital. The dispute may have been drug-related. The HPD SWAT team later responded to a shooting call at the same location about 12 p.m. today (Nov. 1) which may have been related to the earlier shooting. One female suspect was taken into custody and is currently being questioned.
