Traffic Incident at 8000 Jutland
November 1, 2006 -- Houston
police are seeking the public's help in obtaining information
regarding a fatal traffic accident in which a retired Houston
police officer
was killed while walking in the 8000 block of Jutland on October
19, 2006 at 11:40 p.m.
Michael Hamilton, 56, graduated HPD Academy class
#48 and served the department for 21 years. He retired in 1992
and his last assignment was in the Southwest Division.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant
J. Ogden and Officer S.E. Bolton reported:
Retired Officer Hamilton was walking southbound
in the 8000 block of Jutland when he was struck by a late 1970s
model pickup truck. The driver of the truck stopped momentarily,
then turned off the headlights and continued southbound on Jutland.
A second pickup truck, brown in color, possibly a 2004-2005 Chevrolet,
also struck Hamilton. That driver also pulled over down the street,
before driving off southbound on Jutland.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information
leading to the arrest and charging of any suspect(s) in this case
(713-222-TIPS).
Schepps Dairy is offering an additional $10,000
for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of any
suspect in this case.
