Incident at 9450 Woodfair

May 25, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a juvenile male found at 9450 Woodfair about 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday (May 23).

The name of the victim, 15, has not been released pending results of an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. H. Roberts and Officer I. F. Flores Jr. reported:

The victim's mother reported him missing to police about 3 a.m. on Tuesday when he failed to return home after visiting a friend's house. About 2:25 p.m., he was discovered at the bottom of the pool at an apartment complex at 9450 Woodfair. The pool had been closed for repairs for some time and the water was cloudy.

Investigators did not find any indications of trauma or foul play. At this time, the incident is believed to be an accidental drowning. However, the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner's office.
