Update on Incident at 3101 Holmes Road
May 22, 2006 -- Houston police
homicide investigators have released a photo of a suspect wanted
and charged in the fatal shooting of two men at 3101 Holmes Road
about 7:30 p.m. on May 19.
The suspect, Miguel
Soria (H/m, DOB 11/25/80), is charged with capital murder
in the 230th State District Court.
The first victim has been identified as Mario
Rico, 28, of 7400 Plum Creek #1523. He suffered multiple gunshot
wounds to the chest and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital
where he later died. The second victim is identified as Jorge
Rangel, 28, of 12615 Adelia Court. Rangel sustained multiple gunshot
wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where
he later died.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Wyers and
Officer B.W. Nabors reported:
HPD officers responded to a reported shooting
call at a manufacturing plant on Holmes Road and found Rangel
and Rico being treated by HFD paramedics. According to witnesses,
Soria entered the plant and confronted the men. Soria then pulled
out a handgun and shot both victims numerous times. After the
shooting, Soria fled in a 2000 black Chevrolet truck with Texas
license plates 4PBS94. Witnesses to the shooting positively identified
Soria as the shooter.
