Traffic Incident at Dowling and Jefferson
May 21, 2006 -- Investigators
assigned to the Mobility Incident Management Division are investigating
an injury accident involving a Houston Fire Department EMS vehicle
and a citizen's vehicle. This accident occurred in the intersection
of Dowling and Jefferson at approximately 2:30 AM on May 21, 2006.
The accident injured two paramedics and the citizen driving the
other vehicle.
Mobility Division Police Officer T. Houston reports:
Paramedics assigned to an EMS squad were en route
to an emergency call and traveling southbound on Dowling when
the private vehicle, traveling eastbound on Jefferson, ran the
red light and struck the EMS vehicle in the side. The resulting
impact caused the EMS vehicle to overturn. The two paramedics
were transported to Hermann Hospital and the citizen was transported
to St Joseph's hospital. All three were reported to be in good
condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into this accident is continuing
and no charges have been filed at this time.
