May 10, 2006 -- Houston Police
homicide detectives are investigating the drowning death of a
one-year-old baby girl at 8800 Gulf Freeway, apartment #22, on
May 9, 2006.
Homicide investigators C. Abbey and P. Motard
report:
At approximately 1:00 PM on May 9, 2006, the
father of five children, ranging in age from twin one-year-olds
to a five-year-old, left all five children in the apartment alone
while he went to a nearby grocery store. Sometime after the father
left, the five-year-old child found the baby in the bathtub. The
five-year-old removed the baby from the bathtub and ran to a neighbor's
apartment for help. The neighbor returned and found the lifeless
baby on the floor of the bathroom. The neighbor called 9-1-1 for
assistance and attempted CPR. HFD paramedics arrived at the scene
but their efforts to revive the baby were unsuccessful.
The victim, Sole Wilson, is a one-year-old twin,
born on 4/28/2005.
The four surviving children were taken into protective
custody by HPD Juvenile Division officers and turned over to Children
Protective Services.
The father, Wade Wilson (B/M 5-7-1982), was taken
into custody by HPD investigators and charged with two counts
of child endangerment. The charges are pending in the 339th State
District Court and Wilson's first court appearance is scheduled
for May 11, 2006. At this time, Wade Wilson is in the Harris County
