Incident at 6026 Bender Road

May 9, 2006 -- A homeowner shot and killed one of two intruders in her home at 6026 Bender Road on Monday, May 9, 2006 at about 3 a.m.

According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and Officer P. Yochum, the homeowner, Francisca Alvarez Carter, stated she confronted the unknown suspect while he was trying to commit a robbery. Carter shot the suspect once in the head. The suspect died at the scene.

A second suspect described only as a skinny black male was seen leaving in a four-door Cadillac. That vehicle was later found in a ditch about one block south of the scene.
