Update on Incident at 6233 Westheimer
May 1, 2006 -- An autopsy conducted
by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office in the death of
a man found at 6233 Westheimer about 12:50 p.m. on Saturday (Apr.
29) has ruled the case a suicide.
The victim is identified as Todd Christopher
Smith, 42, of 2757 Briar Grove #409.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.W. Belk and
Officer M.J. Miller reported:
Smith's body was found lying face down in an
alleyway with a ligature in the form of an air compressor belt
around his neck. Superficial cuts were discovered on both of his
wrists and a 50-gallon barrel was found near a fence Smith climbed
to gain access to the alleyway. He used a 26-inch long board to
tighten a belt in place to strangle himself.
