Traffic Incident at U. S. 59 at Bellaire

March 24, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at U.S. 59 at Bellaire about 2:20 a.m. today (Mar. 24).

The male victim's identity is pending notification to next of kin.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. S. Runyan and Officer T. D. Houston reported:

The victim pulled over into the emergency lane of the freeway after having a flat tire. He was attempting to cross the freeway when the driver of a wrecker truck struck him. No charges are pending against the driver at this time.
