March 18, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a man at 10120 Westview about 5:30 a.m. today (Mar. 18).

The victim is identified as Edgar Hernandez Espana of 10120 Westview #2901. He suffered blunt trauma to the head and face area.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H.R. Hernandez and Officer D.S. Vasquez reported:

Edgar Espana left his residence about 5:30 a.m. to go to work. A witness reported hearing talking in the parking lot of the apartment complex and she looked out of her apartment window where she observed Espana lying on the ground. The witness went outside to check on Espana's condition and observed that he was dead. HPD officers and HFD paramedics were called and determined that Espana had apparently been beaten to death. There are no known suspects at this time; however, robbery appears to be a possible motive.
