Traffic Incident at 11600 Almeda Road
March 18, 2006 -- Charges of
intoxication manslaughter are pending against a suspect involved
in a fatal traffic accident at 11600 Almeda Road about 10:30 p.m.
on Friday (Mar. 17).
The identity of the deceased female, who was
in her 70s, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical
Examiner's office.

D.S. Runyan and Officer S. Martinez reported:
A driver of a black Chevrolet Camaro traveling
northbound on Almeda lost control of his vehicle and struck a
southbound vehicle that had two females inside. A female passenger
in that southbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The
driver of the southbound vehicle was transported to an area hospital
in an unknown condition.
The driver of the Camaro was not injured. He
was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
A mandatory blood sample was performed on him at an area hospital.
The investigation is continuing.
