Incident at 5850 Parkfront #311

March 12, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting at 5850 Parkfront #311 on March 10, 2006 about 7 p.m.

The victim is identified as Ivan Picazo, 17, of 5850 Parkfront #311. He suffered gunshot wounds to the stomach and left thigh.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson and Officer M.D. Newcomb reported.

Picazo arrived home with a friend and while attempting to unlock the front door of the apartment, they were approached by four black males. The witness told police that two of the black males began shooting at Picazo without saying anything and then fled the scene. Picazo was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead this morning (March 11) about 2:25 a.m. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
