Incident at 8000 Cedel Street
June 13, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8000 Cedel Street
about 3:40 a.m. today (June 13).
The victim has been identified as Hernan Laguna
Sanchez, 25, of 7631 Harwin. He suffered gunshot wounds to the
chest, neck and leg.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. T. Mosqueda
and Officer L. Benavidez reported:
The victim was at a nightclub in southwest Houston
with friends. After leaving the club, they drove to the Ridgecrest
subdivision in the northwest area of Houston. As the victim attempted
to turn left onto Cedel, a dark-colored Ford Expedition pulled
to the left of the victim's car and blocked him. The driver continued
to taunt the victim by blocking the lane of traffic. The victim
then jumped out of his car and asked those inside the Expedition
what the problem was. At this time, a suspect in the front passenger
seat of the Ford Expedition shot the victim three times. The Expedition
then left and returned a few minutes later, with the passenger
shooting at the victim and his friends several more times. The
suspect's vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Cedel Street.
There is no known motive at this time.
