Traffic Accident at 9400 North Freeway
June 11, 2006 -- One person
is killed after a fatal traffic accident at that occurred in the
9400 block of North Freeway on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at around
3:40 p.m.
According to Houston Police Department Mobility
Incident Management Division Officer R. Pedraza, a white Ford
Escape SUV was traveling northbound on the North Freeway when
it struck the concrete median. The driver, 36-year-old Trevor
Kiley, swerved to the right, lost control and left the freeway
striking a white Ford Expedition that was traveling northbound
on the service road.
Upon impact the Ford Expedition rolled over on
its side and struck a metal light pole. The Ford Escape then struck
the back of an abandoned building. The driver of the Ford Expedition,
24-year-old Karen King died in the collision. Her 6-year-old son
was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
Her 2-year-old son and the driver of the Ford Escape were transported
to Ben Taub General Hospital with minor injuries.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
