Incident at 8000 Cook Road
June 9, 2006 -- A 22-year-old
man was shot and critically wounded on Thursday June 8, 2006 at
about 11:10 a.m. in the 8000 block of Cook Road.
Houston Police Department Homicide Division Sergeant
M. Scott and Officer C. Scales reported that the victim, Joshua
Lamark was in his apartment when he heard a knock at his front
door. His mother, who lives with Joshua, said he answered the
door, stepped outside and had a conversation with an unknown person.
Investigators believe the suspect shot Joshua in the stomach at
close range with a shotgun.
The suspect is described as a black male between
25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing
between 200 to 220 pounds, with braided hair. Witnesses said the
suspect fled from the scene after the shooting. Joshua was transported
to Ben Taub General Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Residents in the apartment complex told investigators that Joshua
and his mother came to Houston from New Orleans.
