Update on Incident at 4500 Dunlavy
June 8, 2006 -- A female suspect
has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a juvenile male at
4500 Dunlavy about 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday (June 6).
The female, 16, has been referred to Harris County
Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of murder. She was
taken into custody about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday (June 7) and provided
investigators a statement acknowledging her role in the killing
of Gabriel Granillo, 14, who suffered a stab wound to the chest.

and Officer A. Mares reported:
Three males, believed to be affiliated with an
area gang, were at a park at 4500 Dunlavy when anywhere from 20
to 30 males and females, affiliated with another gang, surrounded
them. The large group had weapons consisting of baseball bats,
golf clubs, tire irons and other weapons. During the course of
the fight, the victim was stabbed in the chest by one of the females.
The victim collapsed and died shortly thereafter. The large group
of suspects fled the scene in numerous vehicles, including a dark
blue or black Mercury SUV.
