Incident at 5402 Rosslyn

July , 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at 5402 Rosslyn about 6 p.m. Wednesday (July 19).

The female victim's name is unknown and she is believed to be between 20 and 45 years of age. Her identity and cause of death are pending an autopsy from the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.K. Peters and Officer S. Straughter reported:

Children were playing at the above location while the adult they were with was cleaning the area. One of the children smelled what they believed to be a dead animal and then located the body of the victim.

It appears the female suffered several stab wounds to her back but it is unknown if she was killed at the location where she was found.
