Traffic Incident at 7200 North Freeway

July 1, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7200 North Freeway service road about 8 p.m. on Friday (June 30).

The identity of the victim, a 30 year-old male, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office and notification to the next of kin.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer D. Ertons reported:

The rider of a 2004 Buel motorcycle was traveling southbound on the North Freeway service road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the motorcycle and slid into several street sign support poles. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced his dead. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
