Traffic Incident at 7000 Mykawa
July 1, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7000 Mykawa about
10:45 p.m. on Friday (June 30).
The identity of the deceased male victim is pending
verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. Two
passengers in the vehicle were transported to Ben Taub General
Hospital in critical condition.

D.S. Runyan and Officer M.E. Wick reported:
The driver of a 1999 Nissan Sentra traveling
westbound on Dixie Drive at a high rate of speed lost control
of his vehicle while crossing the railroad tracks at Mykawa. According
to witnesses, the vehicle became airborne as it crossed the tracks
on the eastside of Mykawa and collided with a wooden light pole.
The force of the collision caused extensive damage to the victim's
vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It appears no other
vehicles were involved.
The investigation is continuing.
