Incident at 15000 Gulf Freeway Service Road

January 24, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a man found in the 15000 block of the Gulf Freeway service road about 12:30 a.m. today (Jan. 24).

The victim's identity and cause of death will be determined by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants L.A. Flores and C.W. Howard reported:

The victim was found lying in a drainage ditch. Witnesses told investigators they were driving their four-wheel vehicles and saw the male in the ditch. At that time, they drove to a nearby fire station and notified authorities there. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the male dead at the scene.
