Incident at 6555 West Bellfort

January 15, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6555 West Bellfort on January 14, 2006 about 1:20 p.m.

The victim is identified as Roy Lee Burks Jr., 33, of 6354 Hirsch Road. He suffered gunshot wounds to the upper torso.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson and Officer B.C. McDaniel reported:

Mr. Burks walked into the back door of a game room located at 6555 West Bellfort and stated that he had been shot. Burks fell on the floor inside the game room near the front door. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
