Traffic Incident at 10800 Katy Freeway

January 13, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10800 Katy Freeway service road about 11:20 p.m. on January 12, 2006.

The victim, whose identity is unknown at this time, is described as a white male in his forties or fifties.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. S. Runyan and Officer S. Martinez reported:

The preliminary investigation indicates the victim's vehicle may have run out of gas. He was walking on the service road when an unknown vehicle struck him from behind. An empty gas can, along with other evidence, was found near the victim's body.
