Update on Incident at 7170 Parker

January 11, 2006 -- A suspect has been identified and charged with murder in the shooting of a man at 7170 Parker about 8 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2005.

The victim has been identified as Tony Jefferson, 30. He suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Charles Anthony Grant (b/m DOB: 07-19-87), is charged with murder in the 208th State District court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.D. Newcomb and Officer A. Mares reported:

According to witnesses, Jefferson was involved in a verbal argument with Grant in front of the apartment complex at 7170 Parker. During the altercation, Grant pulled a handgun and shot Jefferson. Grant fled the scene on foot.
