Update on Incident at 802 Country Place #87
January 6, 2006 -- Charges have
been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal stabbing of a
31-year-old man that occurred at 802 Country Place #87 on Thursday,
January 5, 2006 around 3:05 a.m.
The suspect, Michael Franklin Matos (H/m DOB
5/30/82), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court
and is still at-large.
According to Houston Police Department Homicide
Division Officers T.R. Cunningham and B.D. Evans, patrol officers
responding to the location learned that Nickey C. Cunningham,
31, had been stabbed multiple times in the chest and died from
those injuries. Witnesses told investigators that the suspect,
Michael Franklin Matos, is the former roommate of the victim and
that he could be headed to Florida.
He was last seen driving a 2005 Ford F-350 17-foot
U-Haul truck with Arizona plates AA91027. The truck has the standard
U-Haul markings.
