Incident at 3950 Hollister

February 10, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 3950 Hollister about 9 p.m. on Thursday (Feb. 9)

The suspect, Robert Helmstetter (b/m, DOB: 4-20-85), has been charged with murder in the 184th State District Court.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Officer M.S. Walker reported:

According to witnesses, the victim and Helmstetter became involved in an argument in the parking lot of the Sunnycrest Apartment complex. Helmstetter produced a handgun and shot the victim several times. Both the victim and Helmstetter are Hurricane Katrina evacuees relocated to Houston.
