HPD Seeks Public's Help in Locating Murder Suspect
February 7, 2006 -- HPD investigators
are seeking the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in
the fatal shooting of a man at 7700 Lyons Avenue about 2 a.m.
on January 21, 2006.
The suspect, Paul
Edward Lopez (H/m, DOB: 1-24-81) is charged with murder in
the 180th State District Court.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. R. Hernandez
and Officers D. S. Vasquez, B. Evans and I.F. Flores Jr. reported:
Houston police officers working off-duty employment
at a local sports bar heard gunfire coming from the rear of a
business. Officers responded to the location and discovered the
victim, Jaime Martin Burciaga Jr., 23, of 938 Henke Street with
multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. According to witnesses,
two groups of Hispanic males got into a confrontation when Lopez
fired at the victim who was inside of his vehicle. Lopez has been
seen in a black Mercedes Benz and has been known to frequent the
westside area of the city.
