Update on Traffic Incident at 3900 Weslow
February 2, 2006 -- Charges
are pending against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident
at 3900 Weslow about 3:15 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2006.
The suspect, Nikitia Williamson (b/f, DOB 12/23/61),
turned herself in at the HPD Hit-and -Run Unit office at 11:45
a.m. today (Feb. 2) and confessed her involvement in the accident.
She now faces charges of failure to stop and render aid.
The victim, Brian Michel, 5, of 6503 Gammage
#11 was struck and killed by a vehicle being driven by Williamson
who fled the scene after hitting the child.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant
N. Nguyen and Officers R. Breiding and J. Miller reported:
An individual driving down the street found Brian
lying unconscious in the middle of the street with trauma to his
head. Officers determined, through physical evidence at the scene,
that a vehicle hit the child. Officers spoke with residents of
a nearby apartment complex, but have been unable to locate any
witnesses who observed what happened.
