Incident at 7600 Wallisville Road

December 22, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7600 Wallisville Road about 11:55 p.m. on Thursday (December 21).

The male victim's identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant O. Belmarez and Officer E. Carstens reported:

The victim was found lying in the intersection at Wallisville Road and North Wayside with a gunshot wound. His vehicle was also at the intersection, with the driver's door open. It did not appear anything was missing from the interior of the car.

There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.
