HPD Juvenile Division Sex Crimes Unit Officers
J.M. Barnes and E.Y. Rodriguez reported:
HISD police generated a report on December 4,
2006 regarding the sexual assaults of several juveniles in the
Spring of 2004, primarily at 8921 Pagewood (Piney Point Elementary
School). Investigators interviewed numerous juvenile male victims,
all of whom were Brandy Gonzales' 5th grade students or had some
dealing with her at Piney Point Elementary during this time, and
confirmed the allegations to file charges. The victims were ages
11 to 13.
During the investigation, officers learned that
suspect Brandy Gonzales was employed at various schools from August
1998 through May 2006:
- Parker Elementary School (Teacher's Aide)- August 1998 through
June 2000, resigned.
- Piney Point Elementary School (5th Grade Teacher)- December
2001 through July 2004.
- Park Place Elementary School (Teacher)- August 2004 through
August 2005, resigned.
- Clear Lake Christian School (Teacher)- August 2005 through
May 2006.
The investigation revealed suspect Johnny Gonzales
sexually assaulted one of Brandy Gonzales' victims on several
occasions. That led to the charges filed against him.
Investigators are asking any former students
who might have had any inappropriate contact, inside or outside
of school, with either of the suspects, to contact them and make
a report of the incident. Officers J.M. Barnes and E.Y. Rodriguez
