Incident at 2828 Collingsworth
December 3, 2006 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2828 Collingsworth
about 12:20 p.m. on Saturday (December 2).
The victim, 29, suffered multiple gunshot wounds
and died at the scene. His identity is pending notification to
family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson
and Officer T.S. Tyler reported:
The victim was seen walking with the suspect
in the courtyard of the Columns of 59 apartment complex at 2828
Collingsworth when they walked to an apartment on the second floor.
The victim then walked inside of the apartment while the suspect
stayed outside. The victim was heard saying he wanted his money,
and not anything from within the unit as he exited the apartment
and walked towards the stairway, followed by the suspect. When
they reached the top of the stairs, the victim told the suspect
he would be back. The suspect then pulled a gun and fired several
times, striking the victim whom fell down the stairs. The suspect
fled the scene with possibly two unknown black males.
The suspect is described as a black male, 35
to 40 years of age, clean-shaven with braided hair to his shoulders
and a small build. He was seen leaving in a burgundy 1998 Oldsmobile
Delta 88. There is no description on the two males that were with
the suspect.
