Update on Incident at 7219 Kings Gate Circle
December 3, 2006 -- Charges
have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting
of a man at 7219 Kings Gate Circle on November 28, 2006.
The suspect, Pedro Leon Shepherd (b/m, DOB 04-04-80),
is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. He is
accused in the killing of Lanathan Johnson, 23, who died of multiple
gunshot wounds.

Officers B. Evans, D. Vasquez
and J. Selvera reported:
HPD officers responded to a shooting call at
7219 Kings Gate Circle after witnesses reported hearing about
ten gunshots in the area. Mr. Johnson was seen running and collapsing
in a breezeway of the apartment complex. A preliminary investigation
has revealed this shooting was committed during a drug-related
robbery.
Subsequent investigation led homicide officers
to Shepherd, who is considered armed and dangerous.
