The victim, Jeanette Gonzales, 23, of 4134 Boone
Road, left church at approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 27)
and was traveling alone in her vehicle, a 2001 gray Mitsubishi
Eclipse. She was followed by a friend to a tea house restaurant
located next to the Hong Kong Market at Bellaire Boulevard and
Boone Road. Jeanette entered the parking lot, followed by her
friend. Her friend parked on the east side of the parking lot
and last saw Jeanette driving toward the west side of the parking
area. The friend walked into the restaurant but Jeanette never
went inside. About 7:30 p.m., witnesses observed Jeanette either
jump from or get pushed out of the
passenger side of her vehicle just east of Kirkwood on Westheimer.
The vehicle continued eastbound on Westheimer. Jeanette was transported
to Ben Taub General Hospital where she later died. Jeanette's
vehicle was subsequently recovered at a gas station at 10010 Beechnut
