Incident at 6275 Griggs Road

August 12, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a store owner at 6275 Griggs Road about 7 p.m. on Friday (August 11).

The victim is identified as Oreste Antonio Escobar, 33, of 100 Andorra Lane.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olivo and Officer I. Flores reported:

Customers entered the Country Food Mart Store at 6275 Griggs Road and found the store's owner lying on the floor suffering with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. HFD paramedics arrived and pronounced Mr. Escobor dead. There are no known witnesses to the shooting, however, investigators believe robbery may have been the motive.
