Traffic Incident at 3800 North Eldridge Parkway

August 11, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3800 North Eldridge Parkway about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday (August 10).

The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R.A. Gonzales and Officer D.W. Ertons reported:

A driver traveling on North Eldridge Parkway lost control of his vehicle and crossed over into oncoming traffic, causing a chain reaction accident involving five vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of one of the other vehicles and his four passengers were transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
