Arrest of Sexual Assault Suspect

August 5, 2006 -- Houston Police homicide detectives have arrested and charged a suspect in the aggravated sexual assault of a woman at 2600 Mansfield. This suspect, Bilford Dwight Junious (b/m 09/19/1970) was arrested at 11:00 p.m. on August 4, 2006 at 16110 East Hardy. Junious is charged with aggravated sexual assault in the 263rd District Court under cause # 10794150 and is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $120,000.00 bond.

Investigators are reviewing evidence from other sexual assaults and homicides in the Acres Homes community to determine if Junious may also be responsible for other crimes. THIS INVESTIGATION IS STILL ONGOING AND IDENTIFICATION OF THIS SUSPECT IS PENDING FROM OTHER VICTIMS. AS SUCH, THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT IS REQUESTING THE MEDIA TO NOT AIR ANY PHOTOGRAPHS OF BILFORD JUNIOUS.

HPD Homicide Division personnel anticipate being able to provide further details regarding this investigation on Monday afternoon, August 7, 2006. A News Alert will be forwarded to all media outlets regarding the specific time and location of future briefings on this investigation.
