Update on Incident at 3435 Walnut Bend #2904

April 21, 2006 -- The death of a 13-month old baby girl that occurred on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 around 4 p.m. at 3435 Walnut Bend #2904 has been ruled a homicide by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

Houston Police Department Homicide Division investigators S.R. Straughter and A. Mares reported that the mother of the child, Tamea Mingo, called 911 and reported that Mirissa Mingo (DOB 2-27-05) had fallen out of the bed and hit her head. Mirissa was transported to West Houston Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

On Wednesday April 19, 2006 Harris County Medical Examiner's ruled the death a homicide. This case is still under investigation.
