Traffic Incident at 9605 Southwest Freeway

April 17, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident at 9605 Southwest Freeway about 2:20 a.m. today (Apr. 17).

The name of the deceased female is being withheld pending notification to family members.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Lieutenant L. Martinez and Officer S. Bolton reported:

The female victim was standing near a vehicle on a public parking lot when a truck driven by an unknown suspect backed into her, pinning her between the two vehicles. She was pronounced dead at the scene. One other person was injured and transported to an area hospital. The suspect fled in the truck.
