Incident at 5022 South Willow Drive
April 14, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of a robbery suspect at 5022
South Willow Drive about 11:30 p.m. on April 13.
The intended victim, Antione Reshad Carter, 20,
was not injured in this incident. Carter fatally shot one of the
two robbery suspects.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. McStravick
and Officer I. F. Flores, Jr. reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at the
above address and discovered a Hispanic male deceased. Investigators
determined through witnesses, that Mr. Carter had just arrived
home when he was approached by a Hispanic male and black male.
The Hispanic male, with an automatic pistol, ordered Carter to
get on his knees and then took his wallet and cell phone. During
this time, the black male was inside Carter's vehicle. The Hispanic
male was threatening to kill Carter when the black male shot at
Carter from the car, missing him. Carter then pulled out his pistol
and shot and killed the Hispanic male. The black male, while firing
at Carter, sped off in the car, struck another parked vehicle,
and then fled on foot. Carter's girlfriend called 911 for help.
The suspect is described as a dark complected
black male, 17 to 20 years of age, approximately 165 pounds, 5
feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall and wearing a baseball cap, white
shirt, blue jeans, dark tennis shoes, and a red bandana on his
face.
