2nd Update on Incident at 8100 Gulf Freeway

April 3, 2006 -- A second suspect has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 8100 Gulf Freeway on March 14, 2006.

Christina Cheri Dewitt (w/f, DOB: 07-03-87) was arrested by Pasadena police officers over the weekend after she and Gary Wayne Weaver (w/m, DOB: 01-07-79), had been charged with capital murder in the 182nd State District Court. Weaver was arrested on March 18.

HPD Homicide Division Officer S. R. Straughter reported:

At approximately 3 p.m. on March 14, police received a call after an individual found the victim, Ramesh Cherukumalli, 32, of 7905 South Main lying underneath the bridge with multiple gunshot wounds. At the time of the shooting, a witness observed what appeared to be a silver/gray, four-door Honda Accord leaving that same location.
